Hundreds Terrorist Facilities in Syria Wiped Out by Russian Jets

Liputan6.com, Jakarta For the past several days, Russian Aerospace Forces have successfully raided 137 locations that were identified as facilities accommodating terrorists’ activities within Syrian region. The raids were then followed by a series of airstrike on those facilities which totaled up to 448 over the last three days.

“Over the last three days, Russian jets made 137 sorties in the Syrian Arab Republic and destroyed 448 facilities of terrorist infrastructure in the provinces of Aleppo, Damascus, Idlib, Latakia, Raqqa, Hama and Homs,” Russian Defense Ministry official Spokesman, Igor Konashenkov reported on Monday 9 November 2015, as cited in Russian News Agency.

He also went to outline the names of terrorist facilities that were dismantled by the Russian warplanes. These facilities include: Jabhat al- Nusra repair workshop in the Hama province that specialize in armored vehicles, arsenals of small to medium, medium to large range of weaponry in the provinces of Raqqah and Homs, ammunition warehouse in the area of Mont Mgar within Damascus province, Jabhat al- Nusra control center in the province of Idlib and Jabhat al- Nusra field camp in the province of Aleppo.

Former member of Russia’s General Staff Lt. Gen Yevgeny Buzhinsky told Defense News on October 18 2015, that the strategies governing Russia’s military operation in Syria are the successful combination of both classic- Soviet air support missions and Western-style precision air strikes.

“The Russian Air Force has started using Western tactics just to destroy separate targets with high-precision weapons. But overall it is flying traditional ground-support missions.”

Citing from RussiaToday, Russian President Vladimir Putin has previously stated that its defense industry spent the last three years testing ‘a range of promising weapons that can operate against a multilayer missile defense system’ and made valuable inclusion of ’40 new- generation intercontinental ballistic missiles to its nuclear arsenal’.

Russia has for quite some time portrayed a gesture symbolizing unwavering determination to eradicate terrorist group such as ISIS (Islamic State of Iraq and Syria) within Syrian region as according to President Putin, “The ideologues of these extremists make a mockery of Islam and subvert its true humanist values” and that they have ‘occupied vast territories of Iraq and Syria’, Russian Ambassador to Indonesia Mikhail Galuzin made further explanation as has been told to Liputan6.com on October 6 2015.
