RI Soldier Struck to Death by Vehicle While Trying to Save Lives

Liputan6.com, Jakarta - The deteriorating haze issue in Riau, the central eastern coast of Sumatera island immediately called for the deployment of Indonesian Armed Forces (TNI) personnel with the humanitarian task assigned includes the evacuation of those who have been affected by the choking impact of illegal slash and burn of land and forest in that particular region as well as addressing health related issue caused by the environmentally calamitous incident.

One member from the Indonesia’s Ground Force Strategic Command unit, Dadi Santoso was among those who were dispatched from Jakarta to participate in such heroic and humanitarian venture. Unexpected event however, has occurred which led to the death of Dadi.

Dadi reportedly died after he was struck by a vehicle. The suffering did not end there as the crash onto him was followed by the inhumane ‘dragging’ gesture where the vehicle that hit him continued to carry the body of the victim underneath it as the vehicle drove away.

Deputy Officer of Pekanbaru Police Department, Sugeng Putut Wicaksono informs that investigating officers have been dispatched to make furtherance on the probe of the case as the current information suggests likeliness of such incident being a carefully planned one by a perpetrator who allegedly has been holding a grudge against Dadi for a long time.

“Investigating officers have conducted investigation on the crime scene with the help of intelligence agency of Wirabima Military Resort,” Putut informs, Monday (26/10/2015).
