UK Sought to Assist Indonesia in Accelerating its Economic Growth

Liputan6.com, Jakarta - Two Maritime powers, namely Indonesia and The United Kingdom are seeking opportunities to deepen established ties and sought for further expansion on such by exploring other previously uncharted areas.

British Ambassador to Indonesia, Moazzam Malik took the time to explain current tie and further diplomatic relation expansion to Liputan6.com as he kindly accepted special interview request for 'The Ambassadors' program.

"We believe that Indonesia holds great potentials particularly in the sector of economy, with considerably tolerant population reaching 250 millions, the nation is of course considered as an important actor within the Southeast Asia region as well as the international continuum," Ambassador Moazzam explained during the interview session.

"We, however think that there is still a large portion of the western society, especially in the United Kingdom that remain unaware of Indonesia's potentialities. So we sought for a well-informed British population about Indonesia and we want for the Indonesian government to know that we, the UK acknowledge those potentialities and we can help them make good use of it," he continued.

Ambassador Moazzam described a growing number of British investors who are willing to participate in lucrative business deals with Indonesia and said that the country ought to take into consideration the mutually-benefiting impacts it would receive from furthered cooperation.

"Indonesia needs inspiration and innovation ideas. This is where we come in, we can help the country accelerate its economic growth so that it can and it is confident to compete in an increasingly competitive market and global environment," Ambassador Moazzam Malik added.
